MASTER IN EARLY MUSIC PERFORMANCE

PRESENTATION
The Masters course addresses graduate students and professionals who want to specialize in early-music performance and musicological research at the highest academic level. It is promoted by both the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC), wich is a leading European institution specialized in historic performance, distinguished by its internationally renowned teachers. The ESMUC is located in the heart of Barcelona and offers high quality facilities, such as an early music library and a collection of period instruments.

INSTRUMENTAL SUBJECTS
Instrument (individual lessons): 15 hours
Instrument (group lessons): 15 hours
Chamber music: 15 hours
Large ensembles: 20 hours

GENERAL SUBJECTS
Module 1: Early music performing practice
Module 2: Early music analysis and notation
Module 3: Early music sources and repertoires
Module 4: Theoretical principles of early music performance
Module 5: Methodologies of music research
